Probably the rarest advertising crate I have seen to date. It is a late 1800s (probably about 1880) advertising wood crate for Washburn Mandolins, Guitars & Banjos. It reads “Best in the world”. Has beautiful graphics of little kids playing instruments and the last little boy is of African-American descent and portrayed in the typical style of that era.
The wood crate measures 17.5″ x 8.25″ x 8″ tall. Very strong box with the graphics on both sides. I could not find any information anywhere about this including from the Washburn forum or Washburn Guitars themselves. A rare piece of guitar history.
